HOLLYWOOD

In a world where attention spans are short and animations are
long, a hero will rise and an empire will be brought to it’s knees.
If you only make one loop this year make it for…
LoopdeLoop L.A.
Coming January 2013.
This Time it’s Personal.

LoopdeLoop are making the big time thanks to JibJab and our wonderful committee member Megan Nairn. Megan recently made the move to LA, joining the JibJab team and infecting them with LoopdeLoop fever! JibJab are a digital media company dedicated to making funny things worth sharing, and in that spirit they’re setting up a screening to share LoopdeLoop live with the good people of LA.

So, what does HOLLYWOOD mean to you? Dogs in handbags, car chases, mansions and millionaires, paparazzi, explosions, cosmetic surgery, acting, scandals, that damned sign, classic heroes and villains, substance abuse, the walk of fame, The American Dream. You may be tempted to parody classic films, but please bear in mind that it’s a fine line between tribute and copyright infringement and none of us want to get sued. We say run with it and make your own original blockbuster loop!

The LA screening will have a mighty panel of judges and JibJab will be awarding an iPad mini to the winning loop! Meanwhile in Melbourne we’ll have yet another wonderful bundle of MADMAN animation dvds for the Australian winner and runner-up to share!

The submission rules are simple;

  • it must be made by you,
  • it must suit the month’s theme,
  • it must be engaging,
  • it must be submitted in one of our specified formats,
  • No copyright infringement. Any loops submitted which include copyright protected imagery or sound without permission will be rejected, regardless of their quality.
  • it must not contain pornographic material, incite hatred or include defamatory or discriminatory content,
  • it has to loop!

Selected loops will be posted within five days of submission for everyone to enjoy, comment and rate. All posted loops will screen in Melbourne at Loop on Tuesday January 29th from 7:30pm, and then at Dim Mak Studios in Hollywood on Thursday the 31st from 7:00pm.

Submissions close at Midnight on Sunday the 27th of January Melbourne time, or Midnight on Saturday the 26th LA time (convert for your time zone here).
